Barrett's comment

We were just looking at old pictures and we came across one of Barrett and Tim in front of the Mayflower. Barrett said, "Look, a pirate ship." We said, "No, that is the Mayflower." After closer inspection Barrett said, "No, that doesn't look like a flower, it is a pirate ship." He is such a character.

Shortly after were moved here we were driving by the homes that were under construction in the neighborhood. Barrett said, "Look, Mommy. Broken homes!" If only that was the only type of "broken home."

Megan's health

I am home now after seeing a doctor in Louisiana earlier this week. He seemed to have a much better grasp of what was going on with me as well as being much more concerned and willing to listen. He thinks that there are a couple of thing that are going on. First, the damage to my abdominals from the pregnancy is pretty severe and is one of the biggest factor causing my swelling. I have a pretty significant separation of the muscles still(diastasis recti for my medically incline friends!) and he thinks that since my abdominal wall no long has the normal tension my intestine and stomach are used to, they are allowing themselves to fill with air. He has changed my diet and put me on a medications to see if that helps with the swelling. We will watch it a week and go from there based on the results. This is a better answer then the other doctors because I have been telling them from day one that I did not feel it was a digestive issue. He feels that it is more a mechanical issue then an infection or such.

Second, he feels that the pain that I am having is a separate issue. He thinks that I have fibromyalgia. All my blood work kepts coming back normal so he does not think that it is lupus or the likes. He said that it may be medicinally induce from all the different medication the other doctors have tried me on. He has given me some suggestions to try to help manage the pain and we are going to see if that helps before we try any medication since I would prefer not to be on anymore.

My swelling has been about the same since I got home but the pain has decrease in some areas. My back still hurts but my hands and wrist have not been horribly swollen in the morning. Other areas still hurt some but not as bad as they had been. I still get fatigued pretty easily. Hopefully that will improve too.

So that is all the news on my health. Better answers then what I was getting but now we have to find a solution. I hate the answer but I don't have much say in the matter!

Barrett's new hairdo for the New Year

Today we were sitting down to play a game with Barrett and noticed that he was losing hair. Little did we know that was just the beginning. We asked him what happened and he told us that he had taken scissors and cut his hair and put it in the toilet (He really did tell us all that!) The damage was done and it was up to mommy and the clippers to fix the damage. Mommy is devastated but does know that it will grow back.

After seeing the consequence, Barrett started laughing and said, "Now I have little hair like Poppa." No joking. Mommy about went in to hysterical laughter, Daddy was cackling. Daddy told Lainey this was one stunt she was not allowed to pull. It had to come from Daddy because Mommy cut her own hair as a child too. We hope you enjoyed our daily dose of drama.
