Megan's health

I am home now after seeing a doctor in Louisiana earlier this week. He seemed to have a much better grasp of what was going on with me as well as being much more concerned and willing to listen. He thinks that there are a couple of thing that are going on. First, the damage to my abdominals from the pregnancy is pretty severe and is one of the biggest factor causing my swelling. I have a pretty significant separation of the muscles still(diastasis recti for my medically incline friends!) and he thinks that since my abdominal wall no long has the normal tension my intestine and stomach are used to, they are allowing themselves to fill with air. He has changed my diet and put me on a medications to see if that helps with the swelling. We will watch it a week and go from there based on the results. This is a better answer then the other doctors because I have been telling them from day one that I did not feel it was a digestive issue. He feels that it is more a mechanical issue then an infection or such.

Second, he feels that the pain that I am having is a separate issue. He thinks that I have fibromyalgia. All my blood work kepts coming back normal so he does not think that it is lupus or the likes. He said that it may be medicinally induce from all the different medication the other doctors have tried me on. He has given me some suggestions to try to help manage the pain and we are going to see if that helps before we try any medication since I would prefer not to be on anymore.

My swelling has been about the same since I got home but the pain has decrease in some areas. My back still hurts but my hands and wrist have not been horribly swollen in the morning. Other areas still hurt some but not as bad as they had been. I still get fatigued pretty easily. Hopefully that will improve too.

So that is all the news on my health. Better answers then what I was getting but now we have to find a solution. I hate the answer but I don't have much say in the matter!
